Chapter Purpose

From Career driven women, Wives, to full-time mothers…..our foundation is built upon our theme of Sisterhood and Service…….. Simplified

The members of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Alpha Beta Phi Omega Chapter vision is to provide community service to four designated areas of interest while maintaining a healthy sorority and work/life balance. We intend to achieve this goal by including a variety of outreach options and locations. Our goal is to reclaim as many inactive pearls to bring Service To All Mankind in the communities where we live, work, and fellowship through SERVICE AND SISTERHOOD…SIMPLIFIED by:

  • Establishing small clusters where sorority members can participate in community service and sisterly relation activities closer to their homes physically and/or virtually.
  • Focus on reactivation and reclamation.

Purpose of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Alpha Beta Phi Omega Chapter

As Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® continues to forge ahead in its second century of service; our membership is constantly challenged to identify new opportunities to extend our reach of sisterhood and service throughout the communities in which we live and work.

Within the 238-square-mile radius of our selected service area, over 77,000 families with children under the age of 17 are below the federal poverty line. These communities are faced with frequent health, economic, education, and other civic issues that need to be addressed. During this COVID-19 pandemic, which has dramatically created a seismic shift in how we live, work, and serve, these communities will benefit from the programs that Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority readily offers, Incorporated®.

The 2021 Demographic Profile for Midlothian, Mansfield, Grand Prairie, and Irving totaled 585,024 residents, respectively. After assessing the number of 281 inactive sorors in these areas and 118 inactive sorors in zip codes near and examining the local community needs, it is apparent that there is an astounding opportunity to be realized.

In conjunction with our Alpha Kappa Alpha’s purpose, our mission is to charter a chapter to serve Grand Prairie, Irving, Mansfield, and Midlothian. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® does not have an active footprint within these areas, and the A Vision Fair would like to create a more visible awareness of the sorority. In addition to visibility, this potential interest would like to provide Service to All Mankind to these communities in which many sorority members reside.
