From Outstanding Youth to the Lifetime Achievement Award, the AKAdemy Awards honor African American community leaders, artists, athletes, entrepreneurs, educators, and changemakers who are making a real impact.
This is a People’s Choice experience where the community nominates and votes for the honorees.
Nomination Period March 1, 2026 through April 15, 2026
Voting Period May 1, 2026 through May 31, 2026
Voting will take place across all Taste of Black Mansfield and Alpha Beta Phi Omega Chapter social platforms.
Winners announced June 20, 2026 live during the Taste of Black Mansfield Food Truck Edition
Eligibility Nominees must be located in or have impact solely within Grand Prairie, Irving, Mansfield, or Midlothian, Texas. Alpha Beta Phi Omega Chapter members are not eligible for nomination.
